What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage works similarly and keeps data on your device until you clear it. MoneyMust uses both sparingly, for functionality and for aggregate usage measurement.
Categories we use
- Essential / authentication: if you sign in, a session token is stored so you stay signed in and can access saved items. Without it, sign-in cannot work.
- Functional preferences: your theme choice (light or dark), shortlisted products and saved comparison selections are kept so the site behaves consistently on your next visit.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand which pages, calculators and comparisons are used, in aggregate. This helps prioritise which educational content to expand or update.
What we do not do
We do not sell browsing data, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of individual users. We do not store the values you type into calculators on our servers unless you explicitly save them to your account.
Controlling cookies
- All major browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and clear local storage in their privacy settings.
- Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and disable saved shortlists.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics measurement using Google's browser opt-out add-on.
Third parties
Analytics and authentication are provided by third-party processors. When you follow an outbound link to a financial institution, that site's own cookie and privacy practices apply — review their policies separately.
Updates
If the cookies or measurement tools we use change materially, this page is updated and the change is recorded in our transparency report. For details on how personal information is handled, read our privacy policy.
